Classes have paused for Christmas and New Year. We are instead holding a ’Winter School’ to study John of Chyannor, the 17th century story told by Nicholas Boson, as it was recorded by Edward Lhuyd and published by Lhuyd in 1707. Lhuyd will be our primary text. In our first meeting on 19 December we examined the Lhuyd text and considered the derogations from it that were made by various earlier versions in revived Cornish. Our second meeting will be on Thursday 2 January at 20:00, and will focus on the story as folklore and narrative art. The meeting will be held on-line by Zoom. Contact Us if you would like to enrol in this meeting. Picture: St Levan Church, by Jim Champion.
